Bonaire specialists
Bonaire evaporative coolers and gas ducted heaters are in homes right across southern Australia, and we look after both. Our licensed technicians service, clean, repair and install Bonaire systems, with a fixed price agreed before any work starts.
Every Bonaire system
Whether it’s an evaporative cooler on the roof or a gas ducted heater in the ceiling, our technicians know how Bonaire systems are built and what tends to go wrong with them. These are the Bonaire systems we work on most.
Rooftop ducted evaporative cooling, including Integra and Summer Breeze models, serviced before every summer.
Gas ducted heaters in the roof space or under the floor, including the MB series, serviced and repaired.
Bonaire split systems and ducted reverse cycle units that heat and cool from the one system.
Homes with a Bonaire heater and evaporative cooler on one controller. We service both in a single visit.
Replacing worn filter pads, water pumps, dump valves, fan belts and motors on Bonaire evaporative coolers.
Fault-finding Navigator and Comfort Control wall controllers and remotes that show an error or stop responding.
Earlier Bonaire coolers and heaters. We repair them where it's worth it and tell you honestly when it isn't.
Supplying and installing new Bonaire evaporative coolers and ducted heaters, or replacing a tired unit.
Common Bonaire faults
Most Bonaire problems start small: an error on the Navigator, a cooler that only blows warm air, a heater that won’t light. These are the faults we fix most often, and what usually causes them.
An error code on the Navigator controller means the system has logged a fault. We read the code, find the cause and fix it, from sensor and ignition faults to a controller that has lost contact with the unit.
Warm or humid air from an evaporative cooler usually comes down to dry or scaled-up pads, a failed pump or a water supply problem. We test it and tell you exactly what’s wrong.
Water running off the roof or through the ceiling usually means a stuck dump valve, a cracked tank or a float set too high. We find the leak and fix it.
A ducted heater that won’t start, or runs for a minute and stops, often has a worn igniter, a dirty flame sensor or a blocked filter. We test it properly, including for carbon monoxide.
When to service
The best time for a Bonaire service is just before you need the system most. Evaporative coolers are best done in spring and gas heaters in autumn, so a worn pump or a weak igniter is found before the first heatwave or cold snap, when everyone is calling at once.
Each season’s service focuses on the system you’re about to rely on, and you get a written report at the end.
Get your Bonaire evaporative cooler running clean and cold before the first hot week.
Make sure your Bonaire ducted heater lights, heats and vents safely before the cold sets in.

Evaporative coolers should be serviced once a year, ideally in spring. Gas ducted heaters should be serviced at least every two years, including a carbon monoxide test.
Keeping the system maintained is part of looking after your warranty. Every visit comes with a written report, so keep it with your purchase paperwork in case you ever need to make a claim.
An error code means the system has logged a fault. Turn it off at the controller, wait a few minutes and restart it. If the code comes back, leave the system off and book a check, especially if it’s the heater.
Usually the pads aren’t getting wet. A failed pump, a blocked water line or scaled-up pads will all do it. Evaporative cooling also needs a few windows or doors open to work properly.
Most evaporative cooler and ducted heater services take about an hour. Allow a little longer if both are being done in the one visit.
Evaporative coolers, gas ducted heaters, split systems and ducted reverse cycle, including systems run from a Navigator controller and older Bonaire models.
If the system is under about ten years old and the fault is minor, a repair is usually worth it. For older systems facing a big repair, we’ll give you both prices so you can decide.
