Split system service · WA

What a split system aircon service in WA actually covers.

Every split system we service in WA gets the same 12-point check, indoor and outdoor, for one flat fee. An air conditioning service in Perth has a long summer to answer for: months of daily running, fine sand and dust in the filters, and salt air on the outdoor unit near the coast. So the visit is a thorough clean followed by measured tests. If a check fails, we stop, show you, and quote the repair before any extra work. Ducted reverse cycle and evaporative air conditioning services each follow their own checklist.

Before we open it up

We talk it through and run the system first. What we see and hear decides where we look hardest.

What you've noticed

Strange noises, smells, drips, fault codes, a room that won't cool. Your notes point us at the problem faster than any gauge.

A test run in both modes

Cooling and heating on high fan. Airflow, noise and smell are written down before the clean changes them.

Power off, floors covered

Isolator switched off and tagged. Drop sheets down and shoe covers on before any panel is removed.

"Before" photos

Filters, coil face and outdoor unit photographed, so the difference afterwards is plain to see.

Inside: the wall unit

Where sand, dust and pet hair collect over a long Perth summer, and where most smells and leaks begin.

Filters washed and checked

Washed, dried and inspected for tears and warping. A damaged filter lets dust bypass it and settle on the coil.

Coil cleaned through

Coil cleaner worked between the fins and rinsed out, so the whole coil is doing the cooling and not just part of it.

Barrel fan cleaned

The fan behind the louvres. Dust caked on its blades cuts airflow and sends stale air back into the room.

Drain flushed and tested

Tray and drain line flushed, then tested with water. A slow drain is the usual reason a unit drips down the wall.

Outside: the condenser and testing

The half most services skip. In WA it bakes through weeks of 35-degree days and takes salt off the sea breeze.

Condenser coil washed

Sand, leaves and cobwebs cleared and the coil washed through. A blocked coil runs hot, uses more power and trips in a heatwave.

Fan, mounts and wiring checked

Fan blades, brackets, vibration pads and pipe insulation inspected for wear and salt corrosion. Terminals tightened.

Pressures and temperatures

Gauges connected and air temperature measured in and out. The figures show how well the system is really performing.

Report and walkthrough

Readings, photos and any recommendations explained before we leave. Extra work only goes ahead with your approval.

When to book in WA

When to book an air conditioning service in WA.

Service before the season, not in the middle of it. In Perth cooling is the main job: summer is long, hot and dry, and most systems run daily from December through March. Winter is mild but wet, and the same reverse cycle system usually does the heating on cool nights. As a rule, book an air conditioning service in Perth once a year, before summer, or twice if the system heats the house as well. An evaporative air conditioner needs its service before summer too, when the pads and water system are checked ahead of start-up.

You heat with it as well

Book a pre-winter service between March and May. After a summer of daily running, a reverse cycle system goes straight into heating, and a worn part or clogged filter shows up on the first cold, wet night.

Cooling is the main job

Book between September and November, before the first week of 35-degree days. That covers a split or ducted air conditioning service, or an evaporative service where the pads, pump and water system are cleaned and checked. Once the heat arrives, aircon repairs in Perth are booked days ahead.

Hay fever, dust or pets

Service twice a year, once before each season. Spring pollen and dry easterly winds load filters and evaporative pads quickly. Clean filters and a clean coil mean cleaner air in the room.

Service FAQs · WA

Air Conditioning & Heating in WA, Answered.

What an aircon service includes, what it costs, how often to book and what to do about an evaporative system. These are the questions homeowners, landlords and businesses from Perth to Mandurah ask us most.

Which areas of WA do you service?

We service homes and businesses across the Perth metropolitan area: the CBD and inner suburbs, the western and northern suburbs, Joondalup and the northern coast, the Swan Valley, the Perth Hills, the south-eastern suburbs and Fremantle. We also cover Rockingham, Kwinana, Baldivis and Mandurah. Use the suburb checker on this page, or ask when you book and we’ll confirm.

Every split system aircon service follows the same 12-step checklist:

  • wash the filters and clean the indoor coil and barrel fan
  • flush the drain line and test it with water
  • wash sand, dust and salt off the outdoor coil
  • check the fan, brackets and wiring
  • record pressures and air temperatures in both cooling and heating

You get a written report with the readings and photos. If a check fails, we show you and quote the repair before any extra work.

Servicing is a fixed flat fee: $259 for new customers and $249 for returning customers, applied automatically. The price is the same in Perth, Rockingham or Mandurah, and for any brand, including Daikin and Mitsubishi. If we find something that needs more work, you get a clear quote first and nothing goes ahead without your approval.

At least once a year. Perth summers are long, hot and dry, so most systems run for months on end. If you also heat with your reverse cycle air conditioning in winter, service it twice a year: before summer and before winter. Homes near the coast, on new estates with building dust, or with pets or hay fever also benefit from air conditioning maintenance every six months.

Before the season, not during it. Book a pre-summer air conditioning service between September and November, before the first run of hot days. Book a pre-winter heating check between March and May. Bookings fill quickly once a heatwave arrives, so booking early saves you a wait.

Yes. A reverse cycle split system is a heater as well as an air conditioner, and it is how most Perth homes keep warm on winter nights. Every service tests it in both modes. In the Perth Hills, where mornings can be frosty, we also check that the outdoor unit defrosts properly.

Yes. We service ducted reverse cycle air conditioning of all sizes. A ducted service includes:

  • cleaning the return-air filter
  • checking the indoor fan coil and duct connections
  • testing the zone motors and controller
  • cleaning and checking the outdoor unit

That keeps every room cooling and heating evenly. Ducted evaporative systems have their own service, covered in the next question.

Yes. Evaporative air conditioning is common across Perth, especially in the northern suburbs and the Hills. A pre-summer service includes:

  • replacing or cleaning the cooling pads
  • draining and cleaning the tank
  • checking the pump, water inlet and dump valve
  • checking the fan, belt and motor

Before winter, we can drain and shut the unit down, so the pads last longer and cold air stays out of the ducts.

A service is routine maintenance that keeps a working system clean, efficient and reliable. A repair is for a fault: no cooling or heating, leaks, noise or error codes. For aircon repairs in Perth we find the cause on site, quote the fix and repair most problems in one visit. Regular servicing is the best way to avoid them.
