Braemar specialists
Braemar gas ducted heaters and evaporative coolers are some of the most common systems in Australian homes, and we look after the whole range. Our licensed technicians service, clean, repair and install Braemar heating and cooling, with a fixed price agreed before any work starts.
Every Braemar system
Whether it’s a gas ducted heater under the floor or an evaporative cooler on the roof, our technicians know how Braemar systems are built and what tends to go wrong with them. These are the Braemar systems we work on most.
Gas ducted heaters, from older units to current high-efficiency models, serviced, repaired and safety tested.
Rooftop ducted evaporative cooling, cleaned and serviced before summer and shut down properly for winter.
Braemar split systems and ducted reverse cycle air conditioning, serviced, cleaned and repaired.
Gas wall furnaces and space heaters in older homes, serviced and tested for carbon monoxide.
Ducted systems split into zones. We fix zones that won't open, stuck dampers and rooms that stay cold.
Fault-finding Spectrolink and MagIQtouch controllers and thermostats that show a fault or stop responding.
Earlier Braemar heaters and coolers. We repair them where it's worth it and tell you honestly when it isn't.
Replacing a tired Braemar heater or cooler, or installing a new system sized properly for the house.
Common Braemar faults
Most Braemar problems start small: a heater that won’t turn on, a fault on the controller, a cooler blowing warm air. These are the faults we fix most often, and what usually causes them.
A Braemar heater that won’t start, or lights and then cuts out, often has a worn igniter, a dirty flame sensor or a failed fan. We find the cause, fix it and test for carbon monoxide.
Rooms that stay cold usually come down to a blocked return air filter, leaking or crushed ducts, or a zone that isn’t opening. We test the airflow and tell you exactly what’s wrong.
Warm air or water running off the roof points to scaled-up pads, a failed pump or a stuck drain valve. A proper service usually sorts it out.
A fault code or flashing light on a Spectrolink or MagIQtouch controller means the system has locked out. We read the code and fix the cause, so it doesn’t lock out again the next night.
When to service
The best time for a Braemar service is just before you need the system most. Book the heater in autumn and the evaporative cooler in spring, so a weak igniter or a seized pump is found before the first cold snap or heatwave, when everyone is calling at once.
Each season’s service focuses on the system you’re about to rely on, and you get a written report at the end.
Get your Braemar evaporative cooler or air conditioner ready before the first hot week.
Make sure your Braemar gas heater starts, heats evenly and runs safely before the cold sets in.

Get the clarity you need
Gas ducted heaters and wall furnaces should be serviced at least every two years, including a carbon monoxide test. Evaporative coolers are best serviced every year before summer.
Keeping the system maintained is part of looking after your warranty. Every visit comes with a written report, so keep it with your purchase paperwork in case you ever need to make a claim.
Check the thermostat has power and is set to heat, and that the gas and power to the heater are on. If it tries to start and stops, or the controller shows a fault, leave it off and book a check.
It depends on the size of the house, the efficiency of the new heater and whether the existing ducts can be reused. We inspect the system and give you a fixed quote before any work starts.
Most ducted heater and evaporative cooler services take about an hour. Allow a little longer if both are being done in the one visit.
Gas ducted heaters, wall furnaces, evaporative coolers, split systems and ducted reverse cycle, including systems run from Spectrolink or MagIQtouch controllers.
If the system is under about ten years old and the fault is minor, a repair is usually worth it. For older systems facing a big repair, we’ll give you both prices so you can decide.
