Brivis Heating & Cooling Service & Repairs

Brivis has been heating Australian homes for decades, and its gas ducted heaters and evaporative coolers are still some of the most common systems we see. Our licensed technicians handle Brivis service, repairs and installation, with a fixed price agreed before any work starts.

Every Brivis system

The whole Brivis range, looked after

Whether it’s a StarPro in the roof space or an older Buffalo under the floor, our technicians know how Brivis systems are built and what tends to go wrong with them. These are the Brivis systems we work on most.

Heating

Brivis ducted heating

Gas ducted heaters, including StarPro and Buffalo models, serviced, repaired and tested for carbon monoxide.

Evaporative

Brivis evaporative coolers

Rooftop evaporative cooling, including Promina and Contour units, serviced before every summer.

Add-on

Add-on cooling

Refrigerated cooling added to a Brivis ducted heater and sharing the same ducts. We service both halves.

Reverse cycle

Brivis air conditioners

Brivis split systems and ducted reverse cycle units, serviced, cleaned and repaired.

Zoning

Zoned ducted systems

Ducted heating and cooling split into zones. We fix zones that won't open and rooms that never warm up.

Controls

Networker and Touch controllers

Fault-finding Brivis Networker and Touch controllers that show a fault code, go blank or need constant resetting.

Older models

Older Brivis systems

Wombat, early Buffalo and other older heaters. We repair them where it's worth it and tell you honestly when it isn't.

Install

New Brivis installs

Replacing a worn-out Brivis heater or cooler, often on the existing ducts, or a full new installation.

Common Brivis faults

Brivis playing up? We'll find out why.

Most Brivis problems start small: a heater that needs resetting, a fault code on the controller, a room that never quite warms up. These are the faults we fix most often, and what usually causes them.

01

Ducted heating not turning on

A Brivis heater that won’t start, or runs the fan with no heat, often has a worn igniter, a dirty flame sensor or a gas valve fault. We find the cause, fix it and test for carbon monoxide.

02

Not heating or cooling evenly

Cold rooms and weak airflow usually come down to a blocked return air filter, leaking ducts or a zone motor that has failed. We test the system and tell you exactly what’s wrong.

03

Evaporative cooler leaking or warm

Water off the roof or warm, humid air points to scaled-up pads, a failed pump or a stuck drain valve. A proper service usually sorts it out.

04

Controller needs resetting

A Networker showing a fault code, or a heater that only runs after a reset, has an underlying fault. We read the code and fix the cause so you’re not resetting it every night.

Get the clarity you need

How often should a Brivis heater be serviced?

Gas ducted heaters should be serviced at least every two years, including a carbon monoxide test. Evaporative coolers are best serviced every year before summer.

It depends on what you have: a gas ducted heater, an evaporative cooler, add-on cooling or a combination. We quote a fixed price before any work starts, so there are no surprises on the day.

Check the controller has power and is set to heat, and that the gas and power to the heater are on. If it tries to start and stops, or shows a fault code, leave it off and book a check.

Turn the heater off at the controller, switch the power to the heater off for a few minutes, then turn it back on. A reset can clear a one-off glitch. If the fault comes back, the heater needs a technician, not another reset.

Most ducted heater and evaporative cooler services take about an hour. Allow a little longer if both are being done in the one visit.

Gas ducted heaters, evaporative coolers, add-on cooling, split systems and ducted reverse cycle, including systems run from Networker and Touch controllers.

If the system is under about ten years old and the fault is minor, a repair is usually worth it. For older systems facing a big repair, we’ll give you both prices so you can decide.
