Every Celair cooler

The whole Celair range, looked after

Whether you need a new Celair installed or an old one brought back to life, our technicians know how these coolers are built and what tends to go wrong with them. This is the Celair work we do most.

Ducted

Celair evaporative coolers

Rooftop ducted Celair evaporative cooling that pushes fresh, cooled air through the whole house.

Service

Seasonal servicing

Pads cleaned, tank flushed, pump, float and drain tested before the weather turns hot.

Pads

Filter pad replacement

Old, scaled or crumbling pads replaced so the cooler moves more air and cools properly again.

Water

Pumps, floats and valves

Repairing pumps, float valves and drain valves, and stopping leaks before they stain the roof or ceiling.

Winter

Winter shutdown

Draining the tank, turning off the water and covering the unit so cold air stays out of the house.

Controls

Wall controllers and remotes

Fault-finding Celair wall controllers and remotes that show an error or won't start the cooler.

Older models

Older Celair coolers

Celair coolers that have been on the roof for years. We repair them where it's worth it and tell you honestly when it isn't.

Install

Celair installation

New Celair evaporative coolers supplied and installed, with ducts and outlets laid out to suit the house.

Common Celair faults

Celair playing up? We'll find out why.

Most Celair problems start small: air that isn’t as cold as it used to be, a drip from the roof, a controller that won’t respond. These are the faults we fix most often, and what usually causes them.

01

Controller error or no response

A wall controller that shows an error, or a cooler that won’t start, may have a control board, wiring or motor fault. We trace it so you only replace what’s actually broken.

02

Not cooling properly

Warm or humid air usually means the pads aren’t getting wet, because of a failed pump, a blocked water line or heavy scale. We test it and tell you exactly what’s wrong.

03

Water leaking from the unit

Water down the roof or a ceiling stain usually comes from a stuck drain valve, a float set too high or a cracked tank. We find the source and fix it.

04

Noisy fan or a stale smell

Squealing or rumbling means a worn belt, bearings or motor. A stale smell means dirty water or pads, which a proper clean sorts out.

Not sure what's wrong? Book a check and we'll tell you.

When to service

Service your Celair before summer.before winter.

The best time for a Celair evaporative cooler service is spring, a few weeks before the first run of hot days. It finds a seized pump or worn pads before the heatwave, when everyone is calling at once. In autumn, a shutdown service drains and covers the cooler for winter.

Either way you get a written report at the end, so you know what condition the cooler is in.

Here to Help

Get the clarity you need

How often should a Celair evaporative cooler be serviced?

Once a year, ideally in spring before you start using it. Coolers in dusty areas or on hard water may need the pads looked at more often.

We size the cooler to the house, mount it on the roof, run ducts to each room and connect power and water. We look at the roof space first and give you a fixed quote before any work starts.

Usually the pads aren’t getting wet, because of a failed pump, a blocked water line or heavy scale. Evaporative cooling also needs some windows or doors open, and it works less well on humid days.

Most leaks come from a stuck drain valve, a float valve set too high or a cracked tank. Turn the water off at the isolating tap and book a check before it damages the roof or ceiling.

About an hour for most homes. It takes longer if the pads need replacing or the unit hasn’t been serviced for several years.

For many models, yes. We check what’s available before quoting a repair, and if a part can no longer be had we’ll tell you and price a replacement cooler instead.

If the cooler is under about ten years old and the fault is minor, a repair is usually worth it. For older coolers facing a big repair, we’ll give you both prices so you can decide.
