Hitachi specialists
Hitachi makes quiet, well-built split and ducted air conditioners that are fitted in homes and businesses across Australia. Our licensed technicians service, clean, repair and install Hitachi air conditioners, with a fixed price agreed before any work starts.
Every Hitachi system
Whether it’s a new split system going in or a ducted system that needs attention, our technicians know how Hitachi systems are built and what tends to go wrong with them. These are the Hitachi systems we work on most.
Wall-mounted Hitachi inverter split systems, from small bedroom units to large living areas.
One outdoor unit running several indoor heads. We service every head and the shared outdoor unit.
Whole-home ducted reverse cycle Hitachi systems, including zoned installations.
Ceiling-mounted Hitachi cassettes that spread air in four directions, common in offices and shops.
Larger Hitachi systems serving several rooms or tenancies, serviced on a schedule that suits the building.
Fault-finding Hitachi remotes and wall controllers, and explaining what the symbols and modes do.
Earlier Hitachi inverter and non-inverter models. We repair them where it's worth it and tell you honestly when it isn't.

Common Hitachi faults
Most Hitachi problems start small: a blinking light, a drip, a remote stuck on the wrong mode. These are the faults we fix most often, and what usually causes them.
A blinking light on the indoor unit means it has logged a fault. We read the code, find the cause and fix it, from sensor faults to communication errors between the indoor and outdoor units.
Weak airflow or lukewarm air usually comes down to blocked filters, dirty coils, low refrigerant or a failing part. We test the system and tell you exactly what’s wrong.
Drips from the indoor unit are almost always a blocked or badly graded drain line. We clear it, check the fall and stop it happening again.
A unit stuck in the wrong mode, or one that ignores the remote, may only need the settings corrected, or may have a failed receiver board. We check both.
When to service
The best time for a Hitachi service is just before you need the system most. A check a few weeks ahead catches a tired part or a blocked drain before the first heatwave or cold snap, when everyone is calling at once.
Each season’s service focuses on the mode you’re about to rely on, and you get a written report at the end.
Get your split or ducted Hitachi cooling properly before the first hot week.
Make sure heating mode, defrost and airflow are working before the cold sets in.

Get the clarity you need
We check the room size and layout, confirm the right capacity, mount the indoor and outdoor units, and run the pipes, drain and power. You get a fixed price before any work starts.
Once a year for most homes, ideally just before summer or winter. In between, clean the filters yourself every few weeks when the system is in heavy use.
The main ones are the mode symbols: a snowflake for cooling, a sun for heating, a water drop for dry mode and a fan for fan-only. If the unit won’t heat or cool, check it hasn’t been left on Dry or Fan. The manual for your remote lists the rest.
A blinking light means the unit has logged a fault. Turn it off at the remote, wait a few minutes and restart it. If it keeps blinking, leave it off and book a check.
A split system usually takes about an hour per indoor unit. Ducted systems take a little longer, because we also check the ducts, zones and controls.
Split, multi-split, ducted and ceiling cassette systems, along with larger Hitachi commercial systems.
If the system is under about ten years old and the fault is minor, a repair is usually worth it. For older systems facing a big repair, we’ll give you both prices so you can decide.
