Sharp specialists
Sharp air conditioners are less common than they once were, but plenty are still heating and cooling Australian homes, and they need looking after like any other. Our licensed technicians service, clean, repair and install Sharp air conditioners, with a fixed price agreed before any work starts.
Every Sharp system
Whether it’s a Sharp split that needs a clean or an older unit that has finally stopped, our technicians know how Sharp systems are built and what tends to go wrong with them. These are the Sharp systems we work on most.
Wall-mounted Sharp split system air conditioners in bedrooms and living areas, serviced and repaired.
Sharp inverter splits, including Plasmacluster models, cleaned and tested for cooling and heating.
Older Sharp window and through-wall air conditioners cleaned, or replaced with a split system.
Dust and mould cleaned from the coil, fan barrel and drain so the unit smells fresh and moves more air.
We check whether parts for your Sharp model are still available before we quote a repair.
Replacing lost or faulty Sharp remotes and explaining what the symbols and modes do.
Sharp units that have been on the wall for many years. We repair them where it's worth it and tell you honestly when it isn't.
When a Sharp is past repairing, we size and install a new split system in its place.
Common Sharp faults
Most Sharp problems start small: a flashing light, a drip, a room that won’t quite get cool. These are the faults we fix most often, and what usually causes them.
A blinking light or a unit that won’t start means it has logged a fault. We find the cause and fix it, from sensor faults to a failed control board.
Weak airflow or lukewarm air usually comes down to blocked filters, dirty coils, low refrigerant or a failing part. We test the system and tell you exactly what’s wrong.
Drips from the indoor unit are almost always a blocked or badly graded drain line. We clear it, check the fall and stop it happening again.
Rattling, buzzing or a musty smell on start-up points to loose parts, a worn fan or mould on the coil. A deep clean or repair usually sorts it out.
When to service
The best time for a Sharp service is just before you need the system most. A check a few weeks ahead catches a tired part or a blocked drain before the first heatwave or cold snap, when everyone is calling at once.
Each season’s service focuses on the mode you’re about to rely on, and you get a written report at the end.
Get your split or ducted Sharp cooling properly before the first hot week.
Make sure heating mode, defrost and airflow are working before the cold sets in.

Once a year for most homes, ideally just before summer or winter. In between, clean the filters yourself every few weeks when the system is in heavy use.
For some models, yes. We check availability before quoting a repair, and if a part can’t be had we’ll tell you and price a replacement system instead.
The main ones are the mode symbols: a snowflake for cooling, a sun for heating, a water drop for dry mode and a fan for fan-only. If the unit won’t heat or cool, check it hasn’t been left on Dry or Fan. The manual for your remote lists the rest.
It’s almost always a blocked or badly graded drain line, or a dirty coil. Turn the unit off and book a check before the water damages your wall or ceiling.
A split system usually takes about an hour per indoor unit. Ducted systems take a little longer, because we also check the ducts, zones and controls.
Sharp split systems, inverter models and older window and wall units.
If the system is under about ten years old and the fault is minor, a repair is usually worth it. For older systems facing a big repair, we’ll give you both prices so you can decide.
